JC's Definition of Communication

Communication is the technical term given to the process of intentionally or unintentionally creating, transferring, receiving, and interpreting messages. This process involves the following:

• the generation of a meaning by a source,
• the encoding of that meaning into symbols,
• transfer of those symbols to a recipient or destination,
• receipt
• interpretation of the symbols into meaning
