I have presented projects and such in classes of up to 30, however, i have only spoken in front of classes of 8 or 10. But, i do agree that feeling knowledgeable and knowing the audience thinks that you are knowledgeable are very important factors in public speaking. These factors can also be put into the same context as self-confidence and poise.
